In recent years, Moroccan Amazigh music has experienced a remarkable and rapid evolution, highlighted by its astonishing diversity in rhythms and lyrical content. This evolution paves the way for a broader global appeal through the adoption of contemporary musical standards and practices. The variations in Amazigh music across different regions of Morocco are notable; in the south, it demonstrates a strong African depth characterized by the predominance of the "pentatonic scale" and the use of African rhythmic instruments. In the central regions, various musical maqams are prominent, while in the north, there is a significant openness to Mediterranean influences.

According to researcher Assid, the impact of the Ghiyouani phenomenon has led to the emergence of various Amazigh musical groups across the country, including notable ensembles like Oudaden, Iznazen, Osman, Inoumazegh, and Bennan. Salou further asserts that the rise of Rif music during the 1970s marked a departure from traditional styles, giving way to a more committed form of music that addresses diverse themes; however, it has recently seen a revival in traditional emotional styles.

Additionally, Salou points out that the presence of artists and groups residing abroad has contributed significantly to this evolution. Their exposure to foreign musical traditions has enhanced their professionalism, with prominent examples including Zahra Hindi and Saida Fikri. Thus, the development of Amazigh music—an indispensable component of Moroccan culture—requires collective efforts from responsible stakeholders, artists, producers, institutions, and audiences alike. Elevating this art form not only honors its authentic roots but also ensures the preservation of a cohesive and diverse national identity that seamlessly integrates its Arabic-Islamic, Amazigh, Sahrawi-Hassaniya elements along with rich African, Andalusian, Hebrew, and Mediterranean influences.
