Introduction

Since our ancestors walked out of the depths of Africa, human beings have inhabited the Earth for millions of years. It was not until astronauts flew into space and caught a glimpse of this spherical planet that we were able to witness its overall appearance.

"Not knowing Mount Lu's true face, only because I am in this mountain." Only when a person can break through the default categories of their own culture can they gain a broader mind and a freer soul, while also having a more objective and enriched view of their own culture.

Therefore, language learning is by no means as simple as words, sentences, and dialogues; it is connected to thinking patterns on one end and culture and perspectives on the other. It is not just a solitary game from childhood, but a wide-ranging system that will ultimately influence a person's values, thinking patterns, cultural perspectives, and aesthetic abilities.

Since it will be a serious and long-term endeavor, we hope that children can be mentally prepared to persevere. Zeng Guofan once said, "Build a hard fort, fight a tough battle." There is no shortcut in the world that is better than continuous persistence. Children who can "make progress every day without ceasing regardless of season" are bound to achieve something.

We hope that children will not settle for temporary wealth. Seeing something does not mean you have learned it; learning something does not mean you understand it; understanding something does not mean you can share it with others. We hope that children can establish a habit from the beginning of their lives: to explore the deepest mysteries, to see the farthest scenery, and to pursue first-rate accomplishments.

Education is about what remains after all the knowledge learned has been forgotten. Let us assume: if children were to forget all the knowledge learned from Little English, what do we hope they will retain? We hope they will retain a broad perspective, a habit of deep thinking; we hope they will retain an inclusive attitude, a curious mind...
