So how does it work? All you have to do is select three Israeli artists that you particularly love. Whether you are a fan of solo artists from various genres, rock bands, soul music, Eastern singers, or classic Israeli songs, in Shiri, you will find the answer thanks to the largest and most comprehensive Israeli music database with over 7,500 artists and more than 70,000 songs, continually expanding.

You can always go back and change the "station" being broadcast by changing the artists you selected. It's also desirable to change your selections and choose different favorite artists periodically, so Shiri can learn even more about your musical taste and play a wider variety of songs that you really want to hear, as well as new songs you have never heard before.

What "mood" are you in today? Whether you are happy, sad, feeling down, or in need of cheering up, music always improves the mood. Choosing those three artists actually defines a "mood," so if you feel like listening to a station that plays hip-hop, Mediterranean music, and alternative rock, for example, you can choose "Kafe Shachor Hazak," "Itzik Kala," and "Inbal Perlmuter," or switch to different artists whenever needed.

As soon as you change the names of the selected artists based on your current "mood," Shiri will know how to play the songs that you really want and need to hear and even those that you didn't know you wanted to hear. The choice option will expose you to creators and excellent songs in styles and moods that perhaps you wouldn't hear on regular radio stations but may become your new favorite artists and songs.

Choosing playlists: Like it, don't like it

Shiri's free radio service operates through a smart algorithm that learns the user and tailors the music to their unique taste. The app has regular upgrades with each version upgrade providing a technological leap that enhances its ability to learn the listener's musical taste. Additionally, AI capabilities are embedded in the app which enhance Shiri's ability to read user preferences better and play the most suitable musical choices for listeners.

If an intelligent algorithm and AI are not enough, Shiri will become smarter thanks to you. The more you click on the "like" button for songs you love most or click on the "dislike" button for songs that don't appeal to you or choose to "skip" when a song currently doesn't suit your mood, your playlist will improve. To keep Shiri as a free ad-free radio, there is no option in the app to go back to a previous song, skip within a song or select a specific song.

Shiri also allows you to set the genre diversity of your playlist. If you choose "a lot" for "How often should I surprise myself?" – You will get more artists slightly less similar in characteristics to those chosen by you and the songs played may not necessarily be their most popular ones. If instead you choose "few," Shiri will play mainly artists very similar to those chosen with their well-known songs. And if you choose “sometimes,” Shiri will combine both options.
